In Portugal, in the past month of February, the “Becoming a GM” program took place, with the participation of 11 employees from different nationalities. The main pillars of learning and development in the “Becoming a GM” program include job shadowing with a General Manager, leadership training, coaching, project management, language courses, international experience, exposure to various Minor Hotels brands, and luxury service standards. These are just some of the topics covered in the “Becoming a GM” program, which aims to prepare and empower Department Heads to become future General Managers through an immersive 18-month experience in a training hotel, accompanying the General Manager. The program received positive feedback from participants.
