We accepted the invitation from IOM and went on an Exploratory Mission to the Republic of Guatemala to evaluate the creation of a migration corridor to fill the lack of workforce in our hotels in Portugal.
It was with enthusiasm and anticipation that, at the beginning of October, we joined the group of Portuguese companies from the private sector on a visit promoted by the IOM (International Organization for Migration) in partnership with the Guatemalan Government and the US Agency for International Development, to the Republic of Guatemala, with the aim of strengthening ties and establishing a labor migration corridor between the two countries.
The visit lasted 5 days (7 to 11 October), with meetings in several government institutions and visits to highly qualified education and training institutions, where the interest and enthusiasm in implementing this migration corridor that will bring benefits to both countries was evident.
We are partners with IOM in this mission and we will continue to work actively on this project to welcome professionals from Guatemala to our hotels in Portugal.
